The monks and New Abbey

Monksmill, a corn mill in New Abbey Scotland. Although the present buildings date from the late 18th century, there was an earlier mill built by and for the monks of the abbey which serviced the surrounding farms.

The abbey itself is now a ruin. It was built by lady Devorgilla to remember her husband a Scottish king.
